I am doing a Bible study right now called Always True by James McDonald.  I think it my most favorite Bible study EVER! Here are God's promises that we are studying: 1.  I will not fear; God is always with me. 2.  I will not doubt; God is always in control. 3.  I will not despair;  God is always good. 4.  I will not falter;  God is always watching. 5.  I will not fail;  God is always victorious. This study has brought so much comfort to me. My new life verse is: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

Sarah Kate had Western Day at School.  She has "lost her thinking" about clothes again.  She is back to only wanting dresses and skirts.  At least I got her in shorts and pants for two weeks.  That is progress! My FAVORITE Fall candle right now is Autumn from Bath and Body Works.  I also like most of the Yankee candle Fall scents.  Autumn Wreath and Farmer's Market are great!!!! A sparrow landed on my cart in walmart today as I was picking out some peaches.  I let out a loud sound that got the attention of two ladies.  I told them I was scared of birds.  I was a big girl and carried on with my shopping!   

I am excited for Fall to get here.  I think it officially arrives Saturday!  I cleaned my house yesterday and figured the finishing touch would be some pretty, creamy pumpkins.  I burned my new Fall candles yesterday and I wanted the house to match the wonderful smell. I took the girls with me to pick out our pumkins.  I let them pick out their own mini pumpkin. Last Wednesday,  Kristen the cat got very very sick. I had some errands to run last Wednesday morning and when I got home I saw that Kristen had thrown up several time around the house.  I could not find her anywhere.  I finally discovered her in the corner of our closet in sick cat position.  She looked so funny.  Her eyes were dilated and she was breathing funny.  When I tried to pick her up, she groaned.  I was so sad and worried about her.  I took her to the vet.  I knew she was extremely sick when she did not resist getting in the carrier. Sarah Kate has a funny little personality!  She does not even know she is funny, but she is.  She is friendly to everyone and really does not care what anyone thinks.  She does not let anyone walk over her!  She is a very happy little girl. We were eating lunch together yesterday at the table and we were talking about daddy deer hunting and how we eat the meat from the deer.  She said, "what does Daddy do with the deer's branches?"  I said," I don't know what you are talking about."  She replies, "yeah, you know those branches on the deer's head!" Ha!  That is her word for antlers. Then in the afternoon we stopped and met some friends at a restaurant for a snack.  The kids played in the playground.  I noticed a little boy in there causing trouble for the kids.  He was very rough and loud.  I looked over and saw Sarah Kate telling that boy something and I knew she was serious.  I told my friend that I better c...

I have not done a blog post lately for a number of reasons.  First,  I am still dealing with two cats.  Both stressed and one with a cone around her head.  Fun! I have also had writers block and add on top of that being super busy.  With everything starting back it is sometimes easy to let things slip.  The lazy days of Summer are over. I thought I would share a recipe of one of the best sweets I have EVER put in my mouth.  Unfortunately, I have put it in my mouth too many times.  I have made this recipe 3 times over the past month.  When you taste it, you will understand. Remember the title I posted a few weeks ago about the Cat that God Sent?  Well, I need to change that title. The girls have become TERRIFIED of Graycee!  Emily more so that Sarah Kate.  They are too scared to play in the back yard.  Graycee is not mean but playful.  The girls think she is going to eat them!  In fact, I told emily that I thought a neighbor might call the police because of her screaming. Graycee did great being outside at first but now her only goal in life is to get in our house.  She has gotten in a few times and runs right to Kristen had grabs her.  I have heard some terrible cat sounds that have kept my girls locked in their rooms, horrified.  Yesterday I had her spayed.  When I picked her up, I was greeted with some bits of news the vet had not told me......... 1.  Graycee must be indoors for 10-14 days. 2.  She must not run,jump or be around stairs. 3.  She must wear an e-collar...

Emily lost tooth number 6 last night. Emily's most favorite activity is making fairy houses.  She started doing this before she even lost her first tooth.  She spends hours and hours working on these fairy houses.  She goes all out for these houses.  She puts food and water in them too.  For the last tooth, she made a road out of paper for the fairy to get from her door to her pillow. She worries about things like me or Steve stepping on the tooth fairy or Kristen getting her.  I thought we were good to go tonight and she called me back into her room and said she wanted to give the fairy some encouragement.  I asked her what she meant and she had me write this last note.

Well, after much thought, prayer and discussion, we have landed on an activity!  GYMNASTICS!  The girls both LOVE it!!!!!!  They want to go everyday! They are happy-I am happy!

 I had the most wonderful time Friday morning with two of my beloved friends!!!! Kelly and I spent the morning at Elizabeth's for make-up lessons.  Elizabeth has flaw-less make-up!  She always looks so beautiful-inside and out!!!!  Kelly and I have been wanting her to give us some helpful hints.  It was so much fun!!!!  GREAT FOOD, GREAT CONVERSATION and GREAT TIPS!!  I loved watching Elizabeth do her make-up and she did my eyes.  I should have taken a picture.  When I picked up Emily from school, she hopped in the car and said, "oohhhh.......  you look beautiful!" Sarah Kate started Pre-school this week. She got a great teacher and I am trusting she is going to have a wonderful year! I had lunch with Emily at school yesterday.  I asked her if she wanted me to bring her Sonic or Chick-fil-a, but she said,  " I really like the cafeteria food better."  Bless her sweet heart! Out little friend Lena Kate came over this morning while her Mom had a meeting.  I think Lena had a really good time,but Sarah Kate made her be Mrs. Hannigan from Annie,  a dog and a baby.  Lena did not seem to mind any of it and SK was happy as a lark.

Emily lost her 5th tooth on Saturday!  She is soooo terrified of having her teeth pulled.  It had been dangling for about 3 days before I pulled it.  I didn't even have to "pull" it. I basically touched it and it came out. Sunday was promotion Sunday at church.  Emily moved to the first grade SS and children's church.  All first graders receive a Bible. When I checked on Sarah Kate on Sunday night, this is how I found her.  Feet propped up on a bus. She does not realize how funny she is!

Last night we went to the fair with friends.  The highlight of the experience was seeing and holding the baby chicks.  Sarah Kate loved holding them, Emily loved seeing them.  I am afraid some of the chicks nearly lost their lives after Sarah Kate held them.  She squeezed some too tight. I happily stayed outside the pen and took pictures! Emily and Sarah Grace are best friends! Here are Steve and Emily trying to bump into Sarah Grace.  I always loved bumper cars when I was little. And finally........right before we left, Emily got brave enough to hold a chick!!!!  We were so proud of her.  Look how happy Sarah Grace was for Emily!

Yesterday was one of those days that I felt like I was just spinning my wheels.  I worked hard all day long to get the house straight and clean, but by bedtime it looked worse than before I started. I read a qoute recently that I loved and will remember always....."cleaning your house with children around is liking eating Oreos and brushing your teeth at the same time. Just as things were looking great, SK pulled at least twenty items out of her closet to find something new to wear.  The girls destroyed both their rooms looking for a certain doll.  SK dropped a bowl of fruit cocktail in the kitchen.  Kristen plucked out half her fur on her side.  Sticky hands had touched the freshly cleaned back door windows.  I cooked and used several pots and pans.....you get the picture. I went to bed feeling the day had been wasted, like I had accomplished nothing. This morning, I was reading in 1 Corinthians 13.  What matters MOST is how we love.  Lov...

Beautiful flowers for cheap in my mason jars! I LOVE this new drink.  I know that there is really nothing very healthy about it, but it is like drinking an apple Jolly Rancher. These little scent crystals in the blue bottle smell heavenly!  Makes doing laundry fun! This little girl named Sarah Kate.

 Nothing like looking through a strangers photo album is there?  I knew the grandparents would want to see these. Speaking of grandparents............. I have been asked twice in the past two weeks if I was the girls grandmother. I was in the bank a couple of weeks ago and a lady asked me if Sarah Kate was my daughter  or granddaughter.  Then she asked her name.  I could not even answer her because I was so rattled and shocked. Then I got my eye brows waxed over the weekend and the lady asked if I was the grandmother. WOW!  I think I need to get my hair colored.  I DO have gray,but good grief.  I feel 28! Next time I get asked that question I am going to say,  "No,  I am their Great-Grandmother!"

We have a first grader!  She is loving it!  I pray she will continue to love it!

We have another cat!  Kristen has a new sister. Sunday Sarah Kate told me there was a cat at the door.  I saw a young cat trying to get in.  She was scratching at the door. Emily prayed right then and there that we could keep the cat.  When Emily went to bed she asked me to pray the cat would stay with us forever. Got up Monday and she was still there. I fed her and gave her water.  I KNEW we had a cat then. ha!  She was STARVING!!!!  I asked some folks in the neighborhood about her.  Nobody knows who she belongs to.  But, another neighbor has a cat that looks just like her hanging out at there house too. I took her to the vet and the tested to see if she had a micro chip.  She did not.  I got her some shots and flea control.
