Blessings From Friends

My sweet friend, Hillary, made these outfits for the girls. I love them and they have gotten so many compliments on them today! These pictures are not the best, but it is hard to get both of them to look at me and show off their outfits all at the same time. Hillary made the bows too! I am crazy about them too!
I am so blessed to have so many talented, smart friends.

Speaking of smart, talented women........................ I have been a part of a group this summer that meets and listens to a testimony and then watches a Beth Moore video. I cannot explain to you what a blessing it has been! We hear the testimony of a church member each week. I love hearing what God has done in these wonderful women's lives. I think it has brought our church body closer together. This is one of the best things I have ever been a part of. Each testimony has been different and given by women of all different ages. I appreciate their courage to share. I look forward to hearing more stories over the next few weeks.

I put a dark towel over SK's window last night and she slept till 5:50. Hey, it is an improvement!

ADORABLE!! Both the girls AND the outfits!! Hillary is pretty amazing. She's really going to town on the outfits lately! LOVING all of them. :) Now, I just wish I had kids and I'd have her make them something.

Oooh, and way to go with the 5:50 sleeping in time. :) I mean, as you said, it is an improvement. I also just realized that Kelly never mentioned how the black panels went over with Miss H?!? :)

Maybe tomorrow she'll sleep until 6! I'll keep praying for ya.

Oops, hit enter before I was done. I also love doing any Beth Moore study, but our 1st grade team (with the exception of me being in 2nd grade...and they still let me be a part of their group) does one of her studies each summer. Unfortunately, they are doing "Breaking Free" this time around and I can't join them because they meet when I have Master's class. :( I was sooooo bummed because I love our time together discussing God's WORD. It's so incredibly powerful.

Therefore, I love hearing about what an amazing time you have.

Laurie, I just love that you have such a heart for the lord and for others. I'm with you on the closeness thing. I have felt a special connection with the ladies during this bible study. I know the lord is working in all of our lives and that is just fun!!

I can't believe Bekah is your hairstylist...she is such a sweetheart! Alex grew up with her. Her Dad was Alex's pastor from birth until he graduated high school. Small world!

Something Good to Eat

Ever since Steve and I started dating, when we would go to Mississippi, his aunt would make the BEST ROAST IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!! Steve's Dad's side of the family gets together at his Granny's house for lunch every Sunday after church. The food is always sooo good!!!!!!!!!!!! I have always taken a liking to his Aunt Judy's roast. It really is the best roast I have ever had. When we were there on Labor Day weekend, my sister in law asked Aunt Judy for the recipe. Aunt Judy began naming all the ingredients. She said Ranch Dressing mix, and I bugged my eyes out and nearly chocked. I HATE RANCH DRESSING. I don't even like to be in the room with it. I had to focus on the word MIX....not the mayo and butter milk and sour cream that you add to it. Just typing those words makes me shudder. The recipe sounded awful as she rattled off the ingredients, but I promise, you have got to make this if you like a good roast. Trust me on this. Here it is: Get a tender chuck

Complicated

Maybe I am wrong, but I don't remember life being so complicated when I was in middle school. Everything is so competitive now.  Maybe it was back then and I just didn't realize it. Sarah Kate started playing city league softball a couple of weeks ago.   We've been encouraged to get her private batting lessons. When I was in third grade I started playing softball and I just did it for fun!  No stress at all, as far as I can remember!  I just played.  I wasn't very good, but I liked it! Ha! Emily started band this year!  Before school started, I got a letter from the school district strongly encouraging "your band student to take instrument lessons."  WHAT?  I bought into it and got Emily private clarinet lessons (which she really enjoys)! But, what happened to learning as you go?  I never thought about taking private trumpet lessons when I started band. It seems like most parents are striving for their child to be THE BEST.  I guess that's a go

Life in Pictures!

Emily is enjoying her first year in band.  I am very impressed with her playing skill! Sarah Kate was recently awarded the empathy award at her school.  She is very deserving of this! Here we are before the Cotillion Holly Ball.
