Perfume Poll

Every year I like to get a new perfume for Christmas. I told Steve that is what I want him to get me this year. Last year he got me Chanel Chance. I have enjoyed it, but I am ready for something new.
I have always LOVED perfume! When I wear it, I like to WEAR it! Like enough to choke a mule.
For years, I have worn Pleasures by Este Lauder. I will always keep a bottle of it in my cabinet.
Every Spring I like to buy Escadas Spring scent. They are always fresh and fruity smelling. My all time FAVORITE perfume has been Tropical Punch(Escada). People would stop me and ask what I was wearing. Ohhhhh I loved it. But, it was a one time only Spring scent , never to be made again.

When LPM blog did a perfume poll this past Summer, a lot of people said they loved Light Blue. I went to Sephora and it had a sign saying it was their #1 best seller. I sprayed it and LOVED it!!!!!! Went home and asked Steve if he liked how I smelled. He said, " It smells like a hot grill." Now Steve is all into grilling and steaks and burgers, but I did NOT take that as a compliment. What woman in the world wants to hear her husband whisper in her ear, "Babe, you smell like a hot grill." To make matters worse, my mother said she thought Light Blue smelled like bug spray. I don't want to be stinky to the ones I love.

Some friends gave me some Victoria's Secret So pink in Fresh and Clean. I LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!! I told Steve that maybe he could just get me some more of that for Christmas and he said, "well, I think it smells like mowed grass." That will bless a woman.

I went to the mall yesterday and found something I REALLY like.................. Escadas Marine Groove. I THINK I like it. I also kinda like Pleasures Exotic. I sprayed it yesterday and later on it became a bit funky.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO..... all this to say...........help me!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any scents you love???????????? any suggestions for me????????

Comments

Well I adore the fragrance of J'Adore by Dior. I like Heavenly by Victoria's Secret, too. They both are very different from each other so depending on the mood. I can never ACTUALLY smell the Heavenly when I am wearing it but others have told me they like it.

I love love love TommyGirl by Tommy Hilfiger...smells fruity and clean...simply my fav!
I like Theirry Mugler's Angel. Philosophy has some great scents and I love the sayings on their products:) Also Coco by Chanel. Jo Malone has really clean scents as well. Perfume is so fun b/c there are sooo many different scents and hint of scents mixed together! One of my all time favorites is an oil I got from a local health food store called Frankincense and Myrrh by ZUM. Lasts forever and it is just a really unique scent. Can't wait to see what you pick:) --Lyndsey, www.thisgrandlife.com

I don't have any suggestions - I always stick with Estee Lauder but Steve's reactions make me laugh!
my favorite is Mary Kay Bella Bellara. It's not too heavy and not too light - the perfect balance to me. I can mail you samples. I am sooooooo not trying to sell you something. I started selling Mary Kay simply because I LOVE their scents. I'm a perfume girl 100%! They aren't very expensive either.

Burberry...just the plain Burberry. April had it on one day and I had to have it (and I don't even wear perfume). It smells awesome. They carry it at Dillard's and I actually just picked my mom up some from T.J. Max for half the price! :)

I hardly ever wear perfume anymore because of Jordan's crazy allergies, but I LOVE J'adore by Dior. I don't own it but I "borrow" it everytime we go back home!

Hi, Laurie! I'm very interested in reading the comments because I too need a new perfume...I've been out since right before Crosby was born!!!! I didn't like what I had before so it wasn't as easy as just running to the mall to pick up a new bottle, and in nine months I don't think I've had one time where I thought, "Oh, I'd love to spend my time smelling bottles of perfume at the mall while the clerk stares at me"!? So maybe I'll read the comments and narrow my search a little! :) Wish I could help you, but I guess I've been stinky for the better part of a year now! It will have to be a pretty strong fragrance to mask the smell of formula spit-up on my shirt now anyway! :) ha ha

Merry Christmas--
i love reading your blog! I don't often comment, but I love reading about your family!

My absolute favorite is Chanel Mademoiselle. There is also a Victoria Secret fragrance called LoveSpell that people just rave about when I wear. A little girl in my SS class that I taught last year gave it to my for Christmas. It is very strong and I usually don't wear something like that but whenever I wore it people would comment on how divine it smelled so I bought some more of it when I ran out. Lance loves it and even waiters at restaurants will comment when I wear it. Which I just find kind of odd so really, I usually just stick to my Chanel. But since you like strong stuff, I would recommend. It really smells great to me, just strong.

I use Estee, by Estee Lauder. My Great Granmother bought that for my Mom when I was born and then when I had my first baby girl, my Mom bought Estee for me. Every time my Mom or Grandmas smell it on me, they remember back to when I was born and when I was a baby. So, it is a special fragrance for me and it is a really nice one. My Mom now wears Beautiful, by Estee Lauder and that is also a very nice fragrance.

I love perfume!! I buy a different kind every couple of months.
My current ones that I like are:
Mania-Armani
Vintage Soul-liz claiborne
Burberry Brit
Romance-Ralph Lauren
Pure Turquoise-Ralph Lauren
J'adore-Dior
Light Blue-D&G
I actually like a lot more, but these are the ones that smell the best on me. Anything by Estee and Victoria's Secret smells horrible on me.

I like Estee Lauder Private Collection (the gardenia and tuberose one), Michael by Michael Kors and the original Marc Jacobs. Those are very much warm-weather fragrances to me. I also love Ralph Lauren Blue and Chanel 19, very woodsy (only wear in fall/winter). I change with moods and weather!

Laurie,
I looked on Ebay and they do sell the Tropical Punch by Escada. I really am a perfume junkie as well and will not go anywhere without it! I have had every perfume known to man just about! I LOVE it! That is my addiction! I recommend POLO BLUE for women or Stella, by Stella McCartney! Hope that helps! Audrey

I happen to like Dolce & Gabanna Light Blue. At first it may have a "bug spray" sort of scent, but after about a minute...it's so refreshing!
Aishlea said…
Light Blue is my all time fav, but I have found two recently that I like, also!

Very Hollywood by Michael Kors
Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture

They both smell really good!

I think perfume is hard to judge by the way it smells on someone else because it seems they always smell differently on me!! Good luck choosing!

I don't wear much perfume because I forget about it or if it is too strong and throws me into a headache. But, I have worn Tommy Girl, which may seem a little tweenish but I've liked it in the past.

I need to get out more because I do not recognize any of these scents! But I love your husband's description.

Something Good to Eat

Ever since Steve and I started dating, when we would go to Mississippi, his aunt would make the BEST ROAST IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!! Steve's Dad's side of the family gets together at his Granny's house for lunch every Sunday after church. The food is always sooo good!!!!!!!!!!!! I have always taken a liking to his Aunt Judy's roast. It really is the best roast I have ever had. When we were there on Labor Day weekend, my sister in law asked Aunt Judy for the recipe. Aunt Judy began naming all the ingredients. She said Ranch Dressing mix, and I bugged my eyes out and nearly chocked. I HATE RANCH DRESSING. I don't even like to be in the room with it. I had to focus on the word MIX....not the mayo and butter milk and sour cream that you add to it. Just typing those words makes me shudder. The recipe sounded awful as she rattled off the ingredients, but I promise, you have got to make this if you like a good roast. Trust me on this. Here it is: Get a tender chuck

Complicated

Maybe I am wrong, but I don't remember life being so complicated when I was in middle school. Everything is so competitive now.  Maybe it was back then and I just didn't realize it. Sarah Kate started playing city league softball a couple of weeks ago.   We've been encouraged to get her private batting lessons. When I was in third grade I started playing softball and I just did it for fun!  No stress at all, as far as I can remember!  I just played.  I wasn't very good, but I liked it! Ha! Emily started band this year!  Before school started, I got a letter from the school district strongly encouraging "your band student to take instrument lessons."  WHAT?  I bought into it and got Emily private clarinet lessons (which she really enjoys)! But, what happened to learning as you go?  I never thought about taking private trumpet lessons when I started band. It seems like most parents are striving for their child to be THE BEST.  I guess that's a go

Life in Pictures!

Emily is enjoying her first year in band.  I am very impressed with her playing skill! Sarah Kate was recently awarded the empathy award at her school.  She is very deserving of this! Here we are before the Cotillion Holly Ball.
