Wedding Weekend

I had a big big weekend in Mt Magazine at my friend Hillary's wedding. I was so honored to be a bridesmaid. I had a great time with my friends in a beautiful setting. I have not ever been a bridesmaid and a mother, although I was thirteen weeks pregnant in Megan's wedding. This is Megan in the picture with my best friend, Kelly. My mother went along and took care of Sarah Kate. I am so thankful I had my mother there to take care of SK while a participated in the wedding activites. SK got a terrible cold earlier in the week and she has been so stopped up and congested. Emily stayed home with her Daddy, my Dad and Steve's parents. I was so thankful I invited all the parents to come because Emily got sick and had to go to to the Doctor on Sat. morning. Emily has Croup, Bless her heart! I could not have made and stayed sane without the parents to help out.

Josh and Hillary are a beautiful couple and beautiful on the inside too. I am so happy that the Lord brought them togther. Hillary waited a long time, but it was worth her wait. The wedding was so nice and the reception was a lot of fun. They had a wonderful band, food and decor. I was so glad I got to be a part of it all!

P.S. it is VERY stressful to be a bridesmaid AND a mother, isn't it??? :-)

Hey! I feel bad I haven't called you. I will soon! So sorry your girls have been sick. I always say that makes them count as 2 instead of 1 kid! You look so pretty in the wedding. I am just waiting any day for Baby Boy to come. I am so uncomfortable and ready.

I hope Emily and Sarah Kate are feeling much better. I'm assuming they are still sick since I didn't see you guys this morning. You look so pretty in the wedding pictures (Sarah Kate does too).

Something Good to Eat

Ever since Steve and I started dating, when we would go to Mississippi, his aunt would make the BEST ROAST IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!! Steve's Dad's side of the family gets together at his Granny's house for lunch every Sunday after church. The food is always sooo good!!!!!!!!!!!! I have always taken a liking to his Aunt Judy's roast. It really is the best roast I have ever had. When we were there on Labor Day weekend, my sister in law asked Aunt Judy for the recipe. Aunt Judy began naming all the ingredients. She said Ranch Dressing mix, and I bugged my eyes out and nearly chocked. I HATE RANCH DRESSING. I don't even like to be in the room with it. I had to focus on the word MIX....not the mayo and butter milk and sour cream that you add to it. Just typing those words makes me shudder. The recipe sounded awful as she rattled off the ingredients, but I promise, you have got to make this if you like a good roast. Trust me on this. Here it is: Get a tender chuck...

Complicated

Maybe I am wrong, but I don't remember life being so complicated when I was in middle school. Everything is so competitive now.  Maybe it was back then and I just didn't realize it. Sarah Kate started playing city league softball a couple of weeks ago.   We've been encouraged to get her private batting lessons. When I was in third grade I started playing softball and I just did it for fun!  No stress at all, as far as I can remember!  I just played.  I wasn't very good, but I liked it! Ha! Emily started band this year!  Before school started, I got a letter from the school district strongly encouraging "your band student to take instrument lessons."  WHAT?  I bought into it and got Emily private clarinet lessons (which she really enjoys)! But, what happened to learning as you go?  I never thought about taking private trumpet lessons when I started band. It seems like most parents are striving for their child to be THE BEST....

New Toys

Friday I decided that Emily was spending too much time watching t.v. I read an article on the internet about how babies learn best with hands on experiences. Emily has always LOVED t.v. She just gets glued to it. I had also been thinking about most all the toys she has are really too babyish for a 10 month old, sooooooooooooooooo I went to Wal-Mart Friday and got her some new toys. I got her a pull-along puppy and a toy in which you drop balls into the top of it and they go through a maze and turn on lights and play music. They were both for babies 12 months and older. Emily likes them, but she can't quite master them yet. She doesn't love them, as I had hoped. But, we have a family member who does LOVE them! It is our crazy cat Kristen. She loves to stalk and attack the puppy and she thinks the balls are for her. She played with them all afternoon on Friday.
