Four Pictures I Love

This is how I found Sarah Kate in her bed a couple of hours after she had gone night night. Those are her zip up p.j.s next to her. Was she hot? Just looking for something to do? I don't know. I put them back on and she never even woke up.

Emily was looking out through her cage and wondered why I was taking Sarah Kate's picture. She wanted a picture made of her in the bed.

The next picture is what Emily did with her Lunchable the other day. She said it was a "cheese lady wearing a hat."

I had to include a picture of Steve and the girls loving the snow. Emily calls it "playing WITH the snow."

This post made me laugh really hard. I can't believe you were able to put SK's pj's on without waking her up. That would NEVER happen here. And so funny that she stripped down.
Emily always makes me laugh.

Emily is already artistic, very good thinking on her part to make that cheese lady.

"Emily was looking out through her cage..." - HA! That cracks me that YOU call it a cage now! And I love the Cheese Lady with a Hat. She's a creative little booger.

Hey Laurie, I’m back…ha! I saw your comment but had no way of responding to it through email. I went this past Monday for my post-op appt. since surgery and the doctor was very pleased and says things are healing wonderfully. Just pray for no infections or complications between now and May when I go back after everything has completely healed to get fitted for the hearing device. Thank you for your concern and for asking!!! :)

Those pictures are just precious!! Don't you just wonder sometimes how things happen...such as completely removing a pair of jammies?!?! :) I sure do!

I also love the "Cheese Lady wearing a hat!" Most of my second graders love making things with their food, as well!!!

Soo fun!

Something Good to Eat

Ever since Steve and I started dating, when we would go to Mississippi, his aunt would make the BEST ROAST IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!! Steve's Dad's side of the family gets together at his Granny's house for lunch every Sunday after church. The food is always sooo good!!!!!!!!!!!! I have always taken a liking to his Aunt Judy's roast. It really is the best roast I have ever had. When we were there on Labor Day weekend, my sister in law asked Aunt Judy for the recipe. Aunt Judy began naming all the ingredients. She said Ranch Dressing mix, and I bugged my eyes out and nearly chocked. I HATE RANCH DRESSING. I don't even like to be in the room with it. I had to focus on the word MIX....not the mayo and butter milk and sour cream that you add to it. Just typing those words makes me shudder. The recipe sounded awful as she rattled off the ingredients, but I promise, you have got to make this if you like a good roast. Trust me on this. Here it is: Get a tender chuck...

Complicated

Maybe I am wrong, but I don't remember life being so complicated when I was in middle school. Everything is so competitive now.  Maybe it was back then and I just didn't realize it. Sarah Kate started playing city league softball a couple of weeks ago.   We've been encouraged to get her private batting lessons. When I was in third grade I started playing softball and I just did it for fun!  No stress at all, as far as I can remember!  I just played.  I wasn't very good, but I liked it! Ha! Emily started band this year!  Before school started, I got a letter from the school district strongly encouraging "your band student to take instrument lessons."  WHAT?  I bought into it and got Emily private clarinet lessons (which she really enjoys)! But, what happened to learning as you go?  I never thought about taking private trumpet lessons when I started band. It seems like most parents are striving for their child to be THE BEST....

New Toys

Friday I decided that Emily was spending too much time watching t.v. I read an article on the internet about how babies learn best with hands on experiences. Emily has always LOVED t.v. She just gets glued to it. I had also been thinking about most all the toys she has are really too babyish for a 10 month old, sooooooooooooooooo I went to Wal-Mart Friday and got her some new toys. I got her a pull-along puppy and a toy in which you drop balls into the top of it and they go through a maze and turn on lights and play music. They were both for babies 12 months and older. Emily likes them, but she can't quite master them yet. She doesn't love them, as I had hoped. But, we have a family member who does LOVE them! It is our crazy cat Kristen. She loves to stalk and attack the puppy and she thinks the balls are for her. She played with them all afternoon on Friday. So Kristen thinks she has new toys especially for her and Emily is content playing with the remote, magazines, cords and...
