She's Feelin' Fine!

Sarah Kate has done GREAT since getting tubes in her ears. I wish we had done this 3 months ago. She is feeling so good she offered to mop the floor today. Did a pretty good job too!

SK has been a dancing machine since we got home from the surgery center. It is just hilarious! She actually does a jig. I really think that she has not "really" heard music for the past few months. She is nearly getting whip lash in the car seat she is dancing so much to the radio.

AND.......she slept all night last night! Thank you Jesus!

Hey Laurie! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I've been reading your's for awhile and of course came over from Kelly's. I wish Bailey had a little sister and could be a big sister, maybe in time. I know there is a never a dull moment with two princesses at your house. And I'm so glad to see SK feeling good! I'm hoping for some good sleep when we are done! Bless her bones sweeping liking that! That is too sweet! By the way, if you ever want to sell some of their cute clothes, you know where to find me! haha!

I am so glad that she is doing better. My nephew had bad ear infections and I felt so sorry for him and my sister!

Hopefully you can all get some rest now!

Did you cry when you realized your poor youngin' couldn't hear things? I DID!! Let me just go ahead and admit right here, right now that I boo-hooed (is that a word?) like a baby when I realized he could HEAR!!!! The way the Dr. described it to me is that he could hear, but it sounded like everything was under water.....We are so blessed to be able to do something about it! Don't you think?!?!?!?! SO GLAD she's feeling better and doing GREAT!!!!

I'm so glad she's doing so well! She told Wells & I bye last night as we were leaving - I think she wanted to come with us. We need to get them together to play, it would probably be hilarious.

I'm so glad she's doing well! I am so sorry we missed playgroup today - B is a little under the weather and though I don't think it's serious or contagious, I didn't want to bring him around the other babies. =(

Something Good to Eat

Ever since Steve and I started dating, when we would go to Mississippi, his aunt would make the BEST ROAST IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!! Steve's Dad's side of the family gets together at his Granny's house for lunch every Sunday after church. The food is always sooo good!!!!!!!!!!!! I have always taken a liking to his Aunt Judy's roast. It really is the best roast I have ever had. When we were there on Labor Day weekend, my sister in law asked Aunt Judy for the recipe. Aunt Judy began naming all the ingredients. She said Ranch Dressing mix, and I bugged my eyes out and nearly chocked. I HATE RANCH DRESSING. I don't even like to be in the room with it. I had to focus on the word MIX....not the mayo and butter milk and sour cream that you add to it. Just typing those words makes me shudder. The recipe sounded awful as she rattled off the ingredients, but I promise, you have got to make this if you like a good roast. Trust me on this. Here it is: Get a tender chuck...

Complicated

Maybe I am wrong, but I don't remember life being so complicated when I was in middle school. Everything is so competitive now.  Maybe it was back then and I just didn't realize it. Sarah Kate started playing city league softball a couple of weeks ago.   We've been encouraged to get her private batting lessons. When I was in third grade I started playing softball and I just did it for fun!  No stress at all, as far as I can remember!  I just played.  I wasn't very good, but I liked it! Ha! Emily started band this year!  Before school started, I got a letter from the school district strongly encouraging "your band student to take instrument lessons."  WHAT?  I bought into it and got Emily private clarinet lessons (which she really enjoys)! But, what happened to learning as you go?  I never thought about taking private trumpet lessons when I started band. It seems like most parents are striving for their child to be THE BEST....

New Toys

Friday I decided that Emily was spending too much time watching t.v. I read an article on the internet about how babies learn best with hands on experiences. Emily has always LOVED t.v. She just gets glued to it. I had also been thinking about most all the toys she has are really too babyish for a 10 month old, sooooooooooooooooo I went to Wal-Mart Friday and got her some new toys. I got her a pull-along puppy and a toy in which you drop balls into the top of it and they go through a maze and turn on lights and play music. They were both for babies 12 months and older. Emily likes them, but she can't quite master them yet. She doesn't love them, as I had hoped. But, we have a family member who does LOVE them! It is our crazy cat Kristen. She loves to stalk and attack the puppy and she thinks the balls are for her. She played with them all afternoon on Friday. So Kristen thinks she has new toys especially for her and Emily is content playing with the remote, magazines, cords and...
