Need Some Ideas

I am starting to think about Bible studies for our ladies at church in the Fall.  We are finishing up Beth Moore's Children of the Day, James McDonald's Authentic and Priscilla Shirer's Breath.  They are all EXCELLENT!!!!
Do you have a study you have done personally or in a group setting that you really liked?

Watchman Nee's The Normal Christian Life. There is a published guide book that is very good. Née is profound and leads the disciple deeper into God's word.

Jen Wilkin has some great studies. You can download them from her blog. We cut a plastic folder in half and had them spiral bound. Podcasts are there, too. Tammie Head's Duty or Delight. Just reviewed my Experiencing God book...I think that's a staple for discipleship. Sue Edwards has some good studies....you'd need smaller groups and a good facilitator for each, I think. Are you coming for the conference?

Kay Arthur's study on the Covenant is the best one I have ever done. It is a video series with workbooks. We had some really great discussions in our group when we did this study.

Thanks Laurie! I got the paperwork today. "Bad Girls of the Bible" was a great study. I found it to be especially inviting to those new to Bible study. It speaks to every woman, even those who do not think they could possibly relate to a "bad girl". I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this study. It is not extremely deep, but convicting and relatable.

"There is a Season" by Laurie Cole
"The Family of Jesus" by Karen Kingsbury
"The Tabernacle" by Shawn Barnard (from OBU - I think he and Jennifer were gone before you came. - He's Brandon's brother)
"God's Story" by Anne Graham Lotz

Call me if you want more details on how my group responded to each. We've done others, but these were the most popular. Of course we always love the ones by Beth or Priscilla. We're doing "Children of the Day" right now.

One on One with God has been life changing for me. It is a set program/study that established a quiet time routine with scripture memorization, Bible reading, discipleship training, etc. So good!

Lisa Harper's Hebrew! She has a few others as well. Lisa has a way of taking the bible and making it alive and well in our every day lives as women. Her studies are easy to do for the mom on the go. If you miss a day your not playing catch up but rather you just keep on plugging along. A great bible study for busy mom's!

Last year we did Tim Keller's "The Prodigal God" for our Women's conference and it was fantastic. We are currently doing Angela Thomas' book, "A Beautiful Offering." Only a few weeks in, but we are pleased.

This is not for the faint of heart but it is excellent! Passion Pursuit by Linda Dillow & Juli Slathery. It is very good, bold & timely. I would recommend for married women only (all ages).

I would say any of Jen Wilkin's studies, Kelly Minter's newest study What Love Is on 1, 2 and 3rd John. Seamless by Angie Smith is brand new and worth looking in to.
