Our July Fourth Celebration

We celebrated 4th of July with Kelly and Scott and their girls.  We had a really good time and stayed way too long.  The girls loved playing with Harper!

The girls enjoyed "cooking" in the backyard.  The cooking involved water, grass, flowers and leaves.  That was their version of soup.  It provided hours of fun.
Kelly and Hollis look like they should be on the cover of a magazine!  I loved the dress and beads!

We went to see some fireworks, but Sarah Kate and I stayed in the truck because she was beyond fussy.  Steve and Emily liked them.

I did my best to get a picture of us.  She fell alseep right after I took this.

I want to record some funny things that my girls say right now.

Anytime Sarah Kate helps me cooks she says that she is a "cooker baker."

My girls hardly ever see squirrels.  But, when I used to take Emily to preschool, we would go past a vacant lot that had three huge oak tress.  Emily would see a squirrel most everyday that she named Squirrely.  In her mind, there is only ONE squirrel in the world and it is Squirrely.  We had swimming lessons this week and she saw a squirrel and was convinced Squirrely had come to see her swim.  She just can't get over that Squirrely comes to see her at different places from time to time.  One day soon I will tell her the truth.

Love the Squirrely story! We have this "one" squirrel at out house that likes to lick the bricks that the kids named Chippy 4 years ago when we bought this house. Our backyard is pretty much wooded, so we have probably 100 squirrels out there and they all like to lick the salt from the bricks, but to the kids, it's only Chippy! And when we were in TN last month, we saw one licking bricks and they got all excited that Chippy was there- but I think they really knew that wasn't the Chippy from home, but still thought it was funny!
