Dentures are Looking Better Everyday!

I hate to complain, but I am still in pain after my root canal. A root canal is meant to relieve pain. In the procedure, they take the nerve and pulp out of the tooth. WHY AM I STILL HURTING SO BAD? I have made a call to my dentist. Hopefully I will hear from him soon!
Dentures are looking more appealing by the hour.

Also, on a sad note, I don't think it is meant for me to watch Little House on the Prairie anymore. I can't find it anymore. Martha Stewart has taken over the Hallmark channel. Do you know if any of the channels have the show anymore?

Another random thing:
Emily has become the big eater in our family. She used to take about 7 bites per day. Now, she cannot get enough to eat. A mama likes for her babies to eat! We are thrilled about this new found appetite. On the other hand, Sarah Kate has become the picky eater. The only thing she really wants to eat is bread.

Thank you to those who read my blog. I love your comments too! You all have taught me so many new things and given me a lot of good advice and ideas.

Hahaha! The title of this post cracked me up! I have always hoped I would be able to keep my teeth until I die but I could see why dentures would be appealing. I love the last picture of the girls. Emily looks like she is a riot!

Its great when your kiddo starts to enjoy food after being a picky eater. My daughter who used to be soooooo picky will try and likes almost everything.

I've read your blog for a long time, but I think this is my first time commenting. I totally feel your pain (haha, literally!) with your teeth issues. I suffered a tooth trauma in middle school that haunted me through college and was finally resolved last year right before I got married. Tooth pain is soooo bad...you just cannot think about anything else! I remember being HAPPY to have a root canal because I just wanted some relief. I hope you get your issues resolved soon!

I agree with the other comments, after a Root Canal you usually feel much better. Sending prayers your way!

I have a root canal story. I'm 30, August 2009 was my first one. I got a small cavity in one of my canines and I didn't even know it was there. But they said I needed a root canal because it was in between 2 teeth and the tooth was too small. So I agreed. I wish I had just made them fill it.

It's been more than a year and my gums get sore in the area of the crown a lot, and 2 different dentists have told me that's normal and to brush nicely...lol

I know lots of people who were sore for a while. (I had some jaw pain and sensitivity to hot/cold/ occasional pain when biting something (like a carrot) for a few months after the root canal. It's better now, but still bugs me whereas before, I never even knew there was a problem with that tooth. :-(

I hope you get to feeling better soon.

AND they swap out shows on Hallmark everynow and then. I was WAY bummed about the change too, only ours changed to Who's the Boss...ha ha My mother-in-law caught it the other day on Hallmark at 2 and 3 pm in Houston...but it was off for several months before that.

I love the cute sissy pics! I'm about ready to order all of the Little House dvds, b/c I loved that show too and can't find it anymore. I'll pray you feel better soon. Have a great week! Noelle
We are die-hard Little House fans from Australia! We choose not to have pay TV, so we buy what we want to keep on DVD- mainly Christian or classic stuff.

We own from the pilot right through to most of Season 7 (Though we removed and hid the disc with the 2 part SYLVIA episode that scared me as a young teen, and we didn't want our children watching it- the only episode I ever hated.)
My hubby wants to buy all of them-some are on YOUTUBE too.

I'm hoping The Waltons makes it way to DVD too.
Blessings
Claire
PS Hoping your mouth is pain free soon. I know it is hard to look after your young ones cheerfully when in pain.

Sorry to hear about your teeth. I have been where you are. You might be having trouble with a tooth near by the one that had a root canal or they may not have gotten everything the first time. I'm sorry to say both of these have happened to me. I have said to my family too that dentures would solve a lot of problems. Hang in there. I'm sure they will get it figured out soon!

Great pictures of your girls!

I know about LHOP!!! It was all Martha, all the time for a while!! But ours switched back to having LHOP on at 1, 2, and 3. Are you sure yours didn't switch back? I e-mail the Hallmark channel and complain everytime they take it off! I'm a nerd!! I don't know if I'm really making a difference, but it comes back everytime I e-mail!! :)

Love the post title! I'm sorry that you are still in pain though. I remember having a lot of pain right after my root canal too. I know I had to call the doctor back and maybe he changed my medicine, but I can't remember what he told me!?!? I'm pretty sure he said that was normal for the healing process--the tooth recovering from the trauma or something like that? I don't remember going back in to see him, so I think it got better on its own after a few days? I wish I could remember details to tell you. Hope you feel better soon. Not a fun thing at all!

About Little House...we recently checked out a LH DVD from the library with three episodes, which Alexee loved. I haven't looked for more, but maybe you could find some there? I couldn't watch them while I was driving of course, but I cried on the way to Flippin just listening to the one about Olga and the special shoe Pa made--such a great show!! :)

I would only eat bread if I could! Love those carbs :) Hope your teeth feel better! No fun at all!

I've had 8 root canals. You could try Fancast, Hula or Netflix. Sometimes if you go to the station website that carried the program they may have it online. The pain could be from gum injury from the rubber dam put on the tooth.

:( I'm so sorry to hear you're still experiencing pain! Dental pain is some of the worst you can experience. I had a root canal several years ago and my former dentist (he quickly went into the "former" category) didn't get all of the pulp out. Oh my word, talk about excruciating pain! I hope that's not your case but maybe something you should ask about? I hope you get some relief ASAP!

Those pictures of your girls are precious. They are going to be so close to each other...you can just see it in their faces. What a blessing!

Oh feel so bad for you...tooth pain is the worst.
Look at half.com for the DVDs of all the LHOTP episodes. I have them on my Christmas wish list b/c our cable company dropped the Hallmark Channel from our package. I have bought brand new, still in the wrapper DVDs of other TV shows for less than half of what they are new on half.com.

Yikes- not fun when teeth hurt! I hope you can get it resolved quickly! Aren't kids the funniest little people with their appetites?! I know when they're going through a growth spurt by the sheer amount of times they ask, "Is there something else I can have?"

In Va it is on after Who's The Boss...around 8:00 p.m. and then I have seen it on during the day, but I cannot remember the time...might not be the same in your area.

Laurie, So sorry about your dental problems. it's amazing how your teeth problems can be so overwhelming at times! Every part of our body is important when it is hurting!

The pictures of the girls are just beautiful! CAN NOT believe Emily is finally eating!! WOW!

Ugh, tooth/mouth pain is awful!! (I just recently had a terrible eye infection so I can no longer call mouth pain "the worst"! ha). I had to have a gum grafting done a few years back, and that tooth is STILL super sensitive. If I were to ever need another one, I also am going the dentures route!
Hoping by now you are out of pain!! I will pray for you!

Hi Laurie, I have never commented but I read all the time and found you from Kelly's blog. I just wanted to say that maybe there's still a root left in the tooth? I had a root canal at age 18 and then again in the same tooth at age 32! A root had been very deeply embedded and not found the first time! I just couldn't figure out why that tooth was hurting so bad again all those years later!

Wishing you a pain free mouth soon!
Oh and love your blog and seeing pics of your precious daughters!

I've been reading your blog for some time now but this is the first time I comment.
I have an 18 month old who will take a slice of bread anytime! When we go grocery shopping thats the last item I pick up and I put it away from his reach. I once had to pay for a loaf of bread he tore open. The cashier was really nice and thought it was funny, and said I didnt have to pay for it, but I felt bad.

Something Good to Eat

Ever since Steve and I started dating, when we would go to Mississippi, his aunt would make the BEST ROAST IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!! Steve's Dad's side of the family gets together at his Granny's house for lunch every Sunday after church. The food is always sooo good!!!!!!!!!!!! I have always taken a liking to his Aunt Judy's roast. It really is the best roast I have ever had. When we were there on Labor Day weekend, my sister in law asked Aunt Judy for the recipe. Aunt Judy began naming all the ingredients. She said Ranch Dressing mix, and I bugged my eyes out and nearly chocked. I HATE RANCH DRESSING. I don't even like to be in the room with it. I had to focus on the word MIX....not the mayo and butter milk and sour cream that you add to it. Just typing those words makes me shudder. The recipe sounded awful as she rattled off the ingredients, but I promise, you have got to make this if you like a good roast. Trust me on this. Here it is: Get a tender chuck

Complicated

Maybe I am wrong, but I don't remember life being so complicated when I was in middle school. Everything is so competitive now.  Maybe it was back then and I just didn't realize it. Sarah Kate started playing city league softball a couple of weeks ago.   We've been encouraged to get her private batting lessons. When I was in third grade I started playing softball and I just did it for fun!  No stress at all, as far as I can remember!  I just played.  I wasn't very good, but I liked it! Ha! Emily started band this year!  Before school started, I got a letter from the school district strongly encouraging "your band student to take instrument lessons."  WHAT?  I bought into it and got Emily private clarinet lessons (which she really enjoys)! But, what happened to learning as you go?  I never thought about taking private trumpet lessons when I started band. It seems like most parents are striving for their child to be THE BEST.  I guess that's a go

Life in Pictures!

Emily is enjoying her first year in band.  I am very impressed with her playing skill! Sarah Kate was recently awarded the empathy award at her school.  She is very deserving of this! Here we are before the Cotillion Holly Ball.
