Celebrating 100 Days

Emily celebrated her 100th day of school today! She dressed as a 100 year old woman. I think she looks pretty good for her age!

I don't know how to say she looks so grown up, without it sounding stupid since she's dressed as an 100 yr old. but hopefully you get what i'm saying!

My class is doing this as well! I can't wait to see how they come dressed!
Cute way to celebrate the 100th day of school! I always enjoyed making that a fun day for my kindergarten class.

What a CUTE idea! Last year during my student teaching experience we had the children draw a picture of what they thought they would look like when they were 100 years old! Some of the pictures were so funny!

My 6 year old niece just did that last Friday at her school, she attends a Charter school.

I posted a couple pictures of her and her brother on my blog, they're half-Indian.

Blessings,

She is an adorable 100 year old! I hope I look as good. In some of her pictures, she looks so much like my grand daughter, Jocelyn - her facial features, expressions.

I have added a link to a blog post I wrote in honour of my grandma's 104th birthday last March. She just died right before Christmas at the age of 104 years and 9 months. Emily looks great for a 100 year old!

She looks so cute...she really looks "sophisticated".
What a great idea! And Miss Emily looks fantastic, of course. I especially like her lipstick and pearls.

My daughter goes to a pre-k that only goes 3 days a week so we won't make it to 100 days of school. So instead of that we did the 50th day of school and it was last week. They did it 50s style and Olivia dressed in a poodle skirt, black shirt, scarf tied around her ponytail, bobbi socks, and white keds. The kids looked adorable!!! Love the white hair on Emily!! How did you get it to stay that way?

now thats cute!! My 3rd grader has to a decorate a shirt for the 100th day of school. the kids drew a number from 1 to 100. then they decorate it with things that relate to their number...she got 82. she wants to glue 82 pieces of macaroni to it in the shape of an 8 and a 2!! (gasp) why couldn't she have picked a smaller number?? ha!!

Something Good to Eat

Ever since Steve and I started dating, when we would go to Mississippi, his aunt would make the BEST ROAST IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!! Steve's Dad's side of the family gets together at his Granny's house for lunch every Sunday after church. The food is always sooo good!!!!!!!!!!!! I have always taken a liking to his Aunt Judy's roast. It really is the best roast I have ever had. When we were there on Labor Day weekend, my sister in law asked Aunt Judy for the recipe. Aunt Judy began naming all the ingredients. She said Ranch Dressing mix, and I bugged my eyes out and nearly chocked. I HATE RANCH DRESSING. I don't even like to be in the room with it. I had to focus on the word MIX....not the mayo and butter milk and sour cream that you add to it. Just typing those words makes me shudder. The recipe sounded awful as she rattled off the ingredients, but I promise, you have got to make this if you like a good roast. Trust me on this. Here it is: Get a tender chu

Complicated

Maybe I am wrong, but I don't remember life being so complicated when I was in middle school. Everything is so competitive now.  Maybe it was back then and I just didn't realize it. Sarah Kate started playing city league softball a couple of weeks ago.   We've been encouraged to get her private batting lessons. When I was in third grade I started playing softball and I just did it for fun!  No stress at all, as far as I can remember!  I just played.  I wasn't very good, but I liked it! Ha! Emily started band this year!  Before school started, I got a letter from the school district strongly encouraging "your band student to take instrument lessons."  WHAT?  I bought into it and got Emily private clarinet lessons (which she really enjoys)! But, what happened to learning as you go?  I never thought about taking private trumpet lessons when I started band. It seems like most parents are striving for their child to be THE BEST.  I guess that's a go

Life in Pictures!

Emily is enjoying her first year in band.  I am very impressed with her playing skill! Sarah Kate was recently awarded the empathy award at her school.  She is very deserving of this! Here we are before the Cotillion Holly Ball.
