Baby Face


I am sooooo thankful to say that Sarah Kate's face is almost back to normal. Thank you Aquaphor for speeding up the healing. SK's hair looks like fluff and puff in this picture and I love it! I like big hair!

Also, thank you for the compliments on the red chest. I used a color from Sherwin Williams called Salute. I painted it, and then used sand paper to take paint off on the edges and ridges.

SO glad SK is better...bless her. I just hurt for her seeing the pics.

I, too, love your chest. I need some lessons in painting furniture. My dream is to have a storage room full of furniture that I can swap around in my house! Just need to learn to fix it up!

Lovin the puffy hair!! I love when I take Ella's hair down from a pony tail because it is puffy. So happy to see her face is better!

I forgot to tell you how much I LOVED the red dresser!! I love doing that kind of stuff too! It looks so good!

Love all your photos from the fair! Did you go see the Worlds Smallest Woman? And was it the young lady from Haiti? We had her here in San Antonio and it just really disturbed me. I felt like I did something wrong going in to see her. I didn't expect a real person. I thought it would be some illusion. It was terrible! I actually wrote a post about how uncomfortable it made me!

Something Good to Eat

Ever since Steve and I started dating, when we would go to Mississippi, his aunt would make the BEST ROAST IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!! Steve's Dad's side of the family gets together at his Granny's house for lunch every Sunday after church. The food is always sooo good!!!!!!!!!!!! I have always taken a liking to his Aunt Judy's roast. It really is the best roast I have ever had. When we were there on Labor Day weekend, my sister in law asked Aunt Judy for the recipe. Aunt Judy began naming all the ingredients. She said Ranch Dressing mix, and I bugged my eyes out and nearly chocked. I HATE RANCH DRESSING. I don't even like to be in the room with it. Complicated

Maybe I am wrong, but I don't remember life being so complicated when I was in middle school. Everything is so competitive now.  Maybe it was back then and I just didn't realize it. Sarah Kate started playing city league softball a couple of weeks ago.   We've been encouraged to get her private batting lessons. When I was in third grade I started playing softball and I just did it for fun!  No stress at all, as far as I can remember!  I just played.  I wasn't very good, but I liked it! Ha! Emily started band this year!  Before school started, I got a letter from the school district strongly encouraging "your band student to take instrument lessons."  WHAT?  I bought into it and got Emily private clarinet lessons (which she really enjoys)! But, what happened to learning as you go?  I never thought about taking private trumpet lessons when I started band. It seems like most parents are striving for their child to be THE BEST....

New Toys

Friday I decided that Emily was spending too much time watching t.v. I read an article on the internet about how babies learn best with hands on experiences. Emily has always LOVED t.v. She just gets glued to it. I had also been thinking about most all the toys she has are really too babyish for a 10 month old, sooooooooooooooooo I went to Wal-Mart Friday and got her some new toys. I got her a pull-along puppy and a toy in which you drop balls into the top of it and they go through a maze and turn on lights and play music. They were both for babies 12 months and older. Emily likes them, but she can't quite master them yet. She doesn't love them, as I had hoped. But, we have a family member who does LOVE them! It is our crazy cat Kristen. She loves to stalk and attack the puppy and she thinks the balls are for her. She played with them all afternoon on Friday. So Kristen thinks she has new toys especially for her and Emily is content playing with the remote, magazines, cords and...
