Salsa! (Not The Dance)

I had a great test of self-control last night! I passed the test!!! I offered to bring chips and salsa from Chili's to playgroup this morning. I decided it would be easier to get the chips and salsa last night after Steve got home, rather than be late to playgroup and get the girls out in the heat. I got the salsa around 9:00 last night. I had to keep it in my fridge until 11:00.a.m. today when playgroup started. I knew this would be very difficult for me not to eat it. You see, I am not normal. I can't just have a little taste and be done with it. When I eat chips and salsa I just have to have a moment with it. I inhale each heavenly bite. I have seen how my sweet friends drizzle at little salsa over their chips on a plate. I can't do that. It has to be all or nothing with me. I have been known to eat 8 and 9 bowls of Chili's salsa. The wait staff have given me drink cups of salsa to save them a trip to my table over and over. I just simply LOVE the stuff! I have stabbed friends hands trying to dive a chip into the salsa bowl. People have asked me if I just want to drink it with a straw. That really does not appeal to me. I love the salty, spicy, tangy sauce as it explodes against a crunchy, thin chip.
I knew if I got a little taste last night, I would eat ALL the bowls of salsa.
This is how much I put on each chip. I don't really eat all that many chips.
I look for the chips that have curl. They can hold more salsa.
I also love Abuelo's salsa. We had this tonight too. I told Steve we had tons of chips left over and not much salsa. He brought home some of their salsa tonight. SALSA FEST!!!!

I am not into gourmet salsa, such as mango salsa and fruit salsa. I also don't like any kind of bean or corn salsa. I just like normal, runny tomato salsa! My third place favorite salsa is at El Canaveral in Cabot, Ar.

To be honest, the only way I made it through the night without getting into the salsa was because I bought a watermelon.
In my book , watermelon is right up there with chips and salsa!!!!! I love a good, cool, SWEET, seeded watermelon. I bought this one right before I stopped at Chili's last night.

Haha! I'm exactly the same as you EXCEPT I obsess on the chips and tap the excess salsa off! I love the taste of the salsa on there, but can't handle more than a quick dip for fear my mouth will catch on fire! I can't get enough chips. I think I can out eat any man alive!

OH my, Chili's salsa is my FAVORITE!!! I am just like you and can sit and eat tons of it. Forget the meal, I just want the chips and salsa. :-)

You've GOT to try Chili's ranch dressing with your chips n' salsa! Dunk your chip in the ranch - then the salsa. FANTABULOUS!!! I got on such a Chili's ranch kick a few summers ago, that I bought it by the styrofoam cupful and enjoyed it at home :-)

I do the same thing w/salsa. Chili's is my fav and then Abuelos. I embarrass my husband when we are with other people. I have to remember not to do that. I went to chili's with some gf's the other day and she got ranch w/her salsa...I had never heard of that. I make the chili's salsa recipe at home. Very easy. It's the copycat version. As a matter of fact, have some in the ref now!
I just want to thank you for sharing your information and your site or blog this is simple but nice Information I’ve ever seen i like it i learn something today. Green Salsa

Something Good to Eat

Ever since Steve and I started dating, when we would go to Mississippi, his aunt would make the BEST ROAST IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!! Steve's Dad's side of the family gets together at his Granny's house for lunch every Sunday after church. The food is always sooo good!!!!!!!!!!!! I have always taken a liking to his Aunt Judy's roast. It really is the best roast I have ever had. When we were there on Labor Day weekend, my sister in law asked Aunt Judy for the recipe. Aunt Judy began naming all the ingredients. She said Ranch Dressing mix, and I bugged my eyes out and nearly chocked. I HATE RANCH DRESSING. I don't even like to be in the room with it. I had to focus on the word MIX....not the mayo and butter milk and sour cream that you add to it. Just typing those words makes me shudder. The recipe sounded awful as she rattled off the ingredients, but I promise, you have got to make this if you like a good roast. Trust me on this. Here it is: Get a tender chuck

Complicated

Maybe I am wrong, but I don't remember life being so complicated when I was in middle school. Everything is so competitive now.  Maybe it was back then and I just didn't realize it. Sarah Kate started playing city league softball a couple of weeks ago.   We've been encouraged to get her private batting lessons. When I was in third grade I started playing softball and I just did it for fun!  No stress at all, as far as I can remember!  I just played.  I wasn't very good, but I liked it! Ha! Emily started band this year!  Before school started, I got a letter from the school district strongly encouraging "your band student to take instrument lessons."  WHAT?  I bought into it and got Emily private clarinet lessons (which she really enjoys)! But, what happened to learning as you go?  I never thought about taking private trumpet lessons when I started band. It seems like most parents are striving for their child to be THE BEST.  I guess that's a go

Life in Pictures!

Emily is enjoying her first year in band.  I am very impressed with her playing skill! Sarah Kate was recently awarded the empathy award at her school.  She is very deserving of this! Here we are before the Cotillion Holly Ball.
