Happy 2010

We went with Kelly and Scott to the movies today. Our sweet babysitter earned her money! Kelly and I saw Blindside. It was my second time to see it. I LOVE IT!
Emily is posing for me on New Years Eve.
Emily on her Birthday. She wanted to go to the Christian Chicken(Chick-fil-A)for her Birthday dinner. She ate about two bites and then played on the playground with an eight year and a 10 year old girl. Emily told them she was 7. The girls were strangers, but they were so sweet to E.
Sarah Kate wanted all of Emily's gifts. This is what went on with every toy Emily opened.
This is Emily singing at church a few weeks ago. She loves to perform! They are singing "Do You Know Why it's Christmas?" Emily put her all into it! Every time they sang" do you know why?", she would do her hands up like this.

I always love the pics of your girls, but I have to say the picture of Emily during the Christmas performance is PRICELESS! It truly made me LOL! It might just be my favorite! You HAVE to find a video of that and post it. Happy New Year!

My sister, Emily, had a birthday on Dec. 30 and my mom always had something for me to open on her birthday...even though I am actually the older sister!

I'm so glad you and Kelly (and the guys) got to the movies today! Get this: my sister and I were so close in age that we got presents on each other's birthdays too! Spoiled, I'd say!!

I love Emily's personality...what spunk! She makes me smile really big!!

I don't know you guys personally but that last picture just cracks me up. I hope Emily had a great birthday. My husband and I celebrated our 8th anniversary on the 29th. What a great day for celebrations :)

(and-I'm glad those girls were nice to her. I'm always so nervous when my daughter tries to play with "big kids" because she's so excited to meet new friends and I'm always worried they are going to think she's just a hyper "little girl")

Emily was so cute during their songs! Precious! And I love that she calls Chik-fil-a Christian Chicken, so funny!!!
Sounds like me and my sister. There is four years between us and our birthday's are two weeks apart. Good thing too.

Something Good to Eat

Ever since Steve and I started dating, when we would go to Mississippi, his aunt would make the BEST ROAST IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!! Steve's Dad's side of the family gets together at his Granny's house for lunch every Sunday after church. The food is always sooo good!!!!!!!!!!!! I have always taken a liking to his Aunt Judy's roast. It really is the best roast I have ever had. When we were there on Labor Day weekend, my sister in law asked Aunt Judy for the recipe. Aunt Judy began naming all the ingredients. She said Ranch Dressing mix, and I bugged my eyes out and nearly chocked. I HATE RANCH DRESSING. I don't even like to be in the room with it. I had to focus on the word MIX....not the mayo and butter milk and sour cream that you add to it. Just typing those words makes me shudder. The recipe sounded awful as she rattled off the ingredients, but I promise, you have got to make this if you like a good roast. Trust me on this. Here it is: Get a tender chuck

Complicated

Maybe I am wrong, but I don't remember life being so complicated when I was in middle school. Everything is so competitive now.  Maybe it was back then and I just didn't realize it. Sarah Kate started playing city league softball a couple of weeks ago.   We've been encouraged to get her private batting lessons. When I was in third grade I started playing softball and I just did it for fun!  No stress at all, as far as I can remember!  I just played.  I wasn't very good, but I liked it! Ha! Emily started band this year!  Before school started, I got a letter from the school district strongly encouraging "your band student to take instrument lessons."  WHAT?  I bought into it and got Emily private clarinet lessons (which she really enjoys)! But, what happened to learning as you go?  I never thought about taking private trumpet lessons when I started band. It seems like most parents are striving for their child to be THE BEST.  I guess that's a go

Life in Pictures!

Emily is enjoying her first year in band.  I am very impressed with her playing skill! Sarah Kate was recently awarded the empathy award at her school.  She is very deserving of this! Here we are before the Cotillion Holly Ball.
