Growing Girls!


Our girls are growing up so fast and I have decided raising them gets a little harder every year.  Little kids, little problems.  Big kids, big problems.
These girls are seeing that life is hard and they are learning to navigate through new waters.
I have to be their parent.  NOT their best friend.
I have to be in constant prayer for these precious girls that God has entrusted us with.
And people tell me it only gets harder!  UUUHHHHGGGGGGG........

1. The Ukrainians always said that about big vs little kids. That made me smile. 2. Yes....7/10/103 year old angst. I don't always handle it well.

I have two girls, now 20 and 21 and you heard right, it does get harder. Thankfully it is now easier again for me! You have the right attitude, you're their parent, not their friend. BUT be a friend enough so they feel comfortable talking to you about what's going on in their life, even if it's something you DO NOT want to hear!

Hi Laurie,
I started following your blog from Kelly's blog. I just want to say coming from a all girl family. You know 2 sisters, 5 granddaughters, and now 2 great granddaughters. I have a daughter, and when she was growing up I raised her the way God teaches us. I never had one problem out of her. She was a very well mannered child, and young girl. Just remember its what you make out of it. Girls will always have issues with boys...ha, ha... but its all in how you teach and show them your examples. You will be okay... Your doing great so keep your chin up, and smile.
