I am so thankful that I got to go to Dot.mom this weekend. It was one of the best conferences I have EVER been to, and I have been to a lot. Not only was the conference great, but I got to spend lots of time with some of my most favorite people in all the world!!!
It was a delight to meet Sophie, from the Boomama blog. She is such a sweet person and funny too. I like funny!
Tracy and Aimee. I am so glad they went. They are both so sweet. Tracy's daughter, Sarah Grace, is Emily's best friend.
We had dinner Friday night at a Mexican place and I got some great salsa!!! I was a happy girl.
More of our crew having dinner.
I enjoyed the time we got to spend with Angie Smith. Selah is my most favorite group ever!! This is Kelsey, Angie's nanny/friend.
I am so blessed to call these girls my friends.
We had dinner at Pappadeaux's. That is my kind of food!
I love these girls!
I wore that coat the whole time we were in Dallas. I know it is crazy, but I was sooooo cold in every room and every place we went. Next time, I think I will take it off for pictures.
The speakers were all great! So easy to listen to. We missed some of them because we were either late or lost in Dallas. I have ordered the recordking of all sessions!!!
I learned the most from a lady named Karen Alexander- Doyel.
This is what she said in a nutshell:
GOD'S WORD WORKS!
Her class was based on Deuteronomy 6:5-9, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commands that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
Give your WHOLE heart and mind to the Lord-children are watching you!
Teach them the Bible diligently- it is a process, an endeavor, do it like it is a job.
You are the perfect mother for your children. I have been called to "my" children.
When you break bread together (mealtime) remember the Lord. Talk about only good things at the dinner table.
Teach your children to serve with you. That is teaching your children to apply God's Word. Let them HELP YOU prepare a meal for a family that has a new baby. Pray for the new baby and the family. Let them go with you to take the food.
Every morning and night tell them: I love and Jesus loves you! Let Jesus be their first thought of the day and last thought of the night.
Lay with your children each night and ask, What is the best thing that happened today? What is the saddest thing that happened today?
Those are the notes a took. She was a WONDERFUL speaker and role model. I will be ordering some of her books and resources!!!!
I am so very thankful that I got to get away this weekend and learn more about God and how to be a better mother!!!!

Also your camera makes me look tan. I love it. ha! ha ha ha ha ha!
It was so good that I made my husband listen and he ordered 50 copies to give to church members who need it when they come to him for counseling.
I filled an entire notebook from the weekend and I just keep going over my notes every day. So many things that I had already forgotten. It was such a great conference.
It was good to see you there!
