What is Your Favorite Song?

I am just curious........what is your favorite song right now?

I always learn so much from readers who leave me comments.
You have introduced me to some great musicians and bands through my blog. THANK YOU!

I have several songs that I LOVE right now. In fact, when I hear them in the car, they make me speed. I just get so excited. (Well, when I say speed, I just mean go the speed limit. I am usually driving slower than the speed limit).

Sidewalk Prophets: You Love Me Anyway
Selah: You Deliver Me
Taylor Swift: Mean
The Band Perry: If I Die Young
Zac Brown Band: Colder Weather

Tell me what great songs am I missing out on.

It's funny... I listen almost exclusively to Christian music other than a show tune here or there... and it ministers to me on such a deep level. There are times that one song will touch me in a special way and it's like I'm hearing the lyrics for the first time even though I've been blindly singing along for months. There are times that I'll recognize lyrics as a special message from God in that very moment and even in the times that I've been very distant from God, his music still resounds in my heart. That happened for me yesterday on my drive home... to the point that I was literally sobbing... to recognize how intimately involved He is in my life... and now, I can't remember what the song WAS! UGH! I'll post if I remember.
*hugs*

"Slumber" by needtobreathe! They're my all-time favorite band, and they're getting ready to release a new album on Sept. 20th! You should check it out! Or "The Stand" by Hillsong United. That song is all about worship, and it's SO beautiful!

Right now I'm loving "Crazy Love" by Van Morrison. In fact, I (and my fiance) love it so much that it's going to be our first song when we get married in a couple weeks!

Mine right now is Adele's "Rolling in the Deep"
~It's not a happy go lucky song, I just love the beat!
I also love Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night" ~ these two aren't great message songs like a Christian song, I just love the beats.
I'm also loving old stuff on my Itunes like, Asia, Bryan Adams, Pebbles...80's are my favorite!

I love some of the songs you listed! I am a Christian or Country listener mainly, but heard Katy Perry's "Firework" song and loved it. It has a great beat and fun to drive to. What was hilarious was these boys posted this video on youtube of them singing it. They are pretty good...it's UofA boys too! Go here...for the video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2KtzWvoYCw

Michael Buble - "I Just Haven't Met You Yet" - fantastic song! I consider it my son's theme song because it was playing in the car enroute to the hospital when I went in to have him so it is very special to me. I'm sure you would like it!

Jason Aldean Dirt Road Anthem. It just makes me think of the summers as a teenager in the country without a care in the world.

Oh, Laurie, you have to check out the newest Building 429 record! I am addicted - especially "Where I Belong" and "One Foot." Driving from Nashville to Louisville, it just keeps playing and always feel so encouraged.
Dara Maclean and I liked Javier Colon from the Voice show. Stuck like Glue by Sugarland will sure get stuck in your head. I also love a Mighty Fortress by Christy Nockels.

For Christian music:

I love ANYTHING by 33Miles. Their last CD (from Sept or Oct last year) is awesome. Their lyrics are amazing.

For secular:
Darius Rucker - can't wait to see him live in September. I like his country stuff and his Hootie stuff. LOL.

My daughter and her boyfriend really have me listening to country music, and I've been enjoying:

Billy Currington - Love Done Gone (best break-up song EVER)

Taylor Swift - Mean

The Berry Perry - You Lie

Little Bigtown - Little White Church

Blake Shelton - Honeybee

Luke Bryan - Country Girl (not the best message, but do love that beat)

Brad Paisley - Old Alabama

I'm also a HUGE fan of Dave Barnes. Anything of his is awesome. When we saw him in concert last year, one of his opening acts was Ben Rector - another talented young musician!

I could go on and on - I love music!

Anything from Lady Antebellum, Mean by Taylor Swift and Popular & Defying Gravity from the musical Wicked. I don't listen to much music during the summer because I don't go many places without the hubs and we always listen to 80's music when I am with him!!

Absolutely love "Glorious Day" by Casting Crowns! I listen to it over & over!! It's on their album "Until the Whole World Sings". The whole album is worth listening to!! I think they've either released a new album or will be releasing one soon, titled "Come to the Well".
Another favorite is, Shout to the Lord by Darlene Zschech!!! Our church choir sings it and I love it!!

Something Good to Eat

Ever since Steve and I started dating, when we would go to Mississippi, his aunt would make the BEST ROAST IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!! Steve's Dad's side of the family gets together at his Granny's house for lunch every Sunday after church. The food is always sooo good!!!!!!!!!!!! I have always taken a liking to his Aunt Judy's roast. It really is the best roast I have ever had. When we were there on Labor Day weekend, my sister in law asked Aunt Judy for the recipe. Aunt Judy began naming all the ingredients. She said Ranch Dressing mix, and I bugged my eyes out and nearly chocked. I HATE RANCH DRESSING. I don't even like to be in the room with it. I had to focus on the word MIX....not the mayo and butter milk and sour cream that you add to it. Just typing those words makes me shudder. The recipe sounded awful as she rattled off the ingredients, but I promise, you have got to make this if you like a good roast. Trust me on this. Here it is: Get a tender chuck

Complicated

Maybe I am wrong, but I don't remember life being so complicated when I was in middle school. Everything is so competitive now.  Maybe it was back then and I just didn't realize it. Sarah Kate started playing city league softball a couple of weeks ago.   We've been encouraged to get her private batting lessons. When I was in third grade I started playing softball and I just did it for fun!  No stress at all, as far as I can remember!  I just played.  I wasn't very good, but I liked it! Ha! Emily started band this year!  Before school started, I got a letter from the school district strongly encouraging "your band student to take instrument lessons."  WHAT?  I bought into it and got Emily private clarinet lessons (which she really enjoys)! But, what happened to learning as you go?  I never thought about taking private trumpet lessons when I started band. It seems like most parents are striving for their child to be THE BEST.  I guess that's a go

Life in Pictures!

Emily is enjoying her first year in band.  I am very impressed with her playing skill! Sarah Kate was recently awarded the empathy award at her school.  She is very deserving of this! Here we are before the Cotillion Holly Ball.
