Sweet Things

My wonderful neighbor, June, brought us these darling cupcakes last night. She brought more, but they were gone at the time of the pictures. I am so impressed with her creativity. They tasted just as good as they look. I am a huge fan of sugar! Emily told me she was "Barbie" in this attire. Humm..not sure about that. But, she thought she was looking good. Sarah Kate has started sleeping through the night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is 9 months old! haha! I read a book about 3 weeks ago and it was our answer to the sleep troubles. It is called" Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child." I put her to bed between 7:15 and 7:30. I had made the mistake of keeping her up, thinking this would make her sleep. Early bedtime is the answer! I am so excited because one of my very best friends and her family have moved to our area. Beth and I grew up together. We have stayed close through the years and even get closer as years go by. I have had so much fun since Beth...

The Story of Kristen

Almost six years ago, a precious little tabby kitten ran into the school I was teaching at. Our principal grabbed her and took her to the front office. Since I LOVE cats, I went to the office later that day to see this little kitten. The office staff convinced me that I needed this cat. I was single and lived by myself. I jumped at the idea. I took the cat to my art classroom and she made her home in a big box of yarn. When I left school that day I took her to the vet to make sure she was healthy and would make a good pet. A class in my school had been feeding her and her siblings for about two months. They lived under a tin shed. She seemed VERY wild, but was really fun and entertaining. I named her Kristen because I have always LOVED that name. At the time, I did not think I would ever find Mr. Right or have children so I wanted to name her something that I would consider for a child. Plus, every time I would think about a cat named Kristen I would fall out laughing. S...

All Dressed Up

Kelly has really inspired me with her cute hats and flowers. I got this hat for SK this week and it lasted on her head for one second. It was a game for her to see how fast she could pull it off and laugh. Soooooo...it is now for big sister. I put it on Emily and she said,"MOOOOMMMMM, this hat is soooo silly." This a swimmer's hat, Mom?" Then it started growing on her and she went to the mirror over and over. It made her do a little dance. I got this baby girl a flower head band. It lasted 3 seconds for this one picture! She is 9 months old today. Here is Emily in my ballerina dress that I had for a play when I was three years old. Emily loves wearing it. Those shoes are about two sizes too small, but she doesn't care. E went to a Princess birthday party for her friend Summer this morning. It was a wonderful party! Here are a few pics of the little darlings. Emily with Summer. I had the neat opportunity to meet a blogger friend, Kate, with Kelly toda...

Puffs and Rushing Spring

Last week I got SK some Gerber Puffs. She is CRAZY about them! I know she would eat the whole can if I let her. She seems to enjoy feeding herself. Steve's parents are here this weekend and we have had a great time, shopping, eating and talking. They are so good with our girls. Steve's Mom got the girls these precious Spring dresses. I put them on this morning, hoping it would be warm outside. We took a few pictures and then put warm clothes on. Come on Spring weather! Yesterday I got a new fragrance at Bath and Body Works. It is my favorite of all times. If you like scents that are light and fruity, you will LOVE this! It is Nectarine Mint .

Our Week of Play

Sarah Kate is showing her two little teeth here. I don't let SK go in Emily's room because it is not baby proof. E has lots of little toys. She had a very supervised visit the other day. She took a spill while exploring in the toy basket. It was so warm on Wednesday that we had lots of outdoor play. I don't know what they are looking at. Emily worked hard pulling her sister. Soooo hard, that she took at 3 hour nap. Some of you bloggers asked Kelly where I got Harper's monkey outfit. It came from Gymboree. I love that store. They have darling clothes. I try to find cute things and wait for them to go on sale. They have good deals. This is what my friend Kim gave Emily for her birthday. She loves it!

Jerry Jordan

Back in September I did a post that I called "A Hard Week." I mentioned about this wonderful, close family friend that was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Jerry went HOME to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb 19th. A couple of weeks ago, I got really homesick. I had not been to see my parents since Thanksgiving. Although I had seen them several times since then, I just wanted to go home. I went home last Sunday and while I was there, Jerry took a turn for the worst. My mother kept telling me, "The Lord sent you here!" I agree. I needed to be there for my parents and Jerry's daughters and wife and mother. We all needed each other. We consider the Jordans to be our family. It has been a VERY difficult week. In our eyes and minds it seems that Jerry's life was cut short. It also does not seem fair. But, life is NOT fair. We are going to miss Jerry so very much. He was a wonderful man. I know everyone says things like that when someone dies, but J...

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day from Emily and Sarah Kate. Today, Sarah Kate is 8 months old. She started crawling really well yesterday and she has two little teeth. Emily in MY boots. This is still her favorite activity. She tries on my shoes EVERY DAY!!!!!!! When I thought she was napping, she was playing school with her "kids." Notice each one has a book. She was sitting on her bed reading to them. She was saying, "okay, listen sweetie, you got you book, sweetie? I don't know where she got "sweetie " from. I don't say it. I am guessing her teacher says it.

Baby Showers and Blessings

This morning, I was listening to one of my favorite Travis Cottrell cds. It is a live recording and on the first song he starts it off by saying, "Let's Give the Lord some praise today!" I thought, "well AMEN!" I am praising him today for bringing Harper home! What a work the LORD has done. I am so thankful the Lord Jesus turned that situation around and MANY great things have come out of it. I had a baby shower at my house last night for a church friend, Robin, who is due in 4 weeks. We had a great turnout. I am so thankful for our church family. It is filled with people full of integrity. We are so blessed to have a growing Sunday school class. I am so thankful for the new friends I have met in the past few months. I have a friend who is 27 weeks pregnant with twins. She has already began having contractions. Join me in praying that she can wait a few more weeks to meet her girls. One more thing. I had to go and get a few things at some stores tod...

Our House This Weekend

I am so thankful for the continued improvements with Harper. I feel I can "breath easy" now. She looks so beautiful and healthy. I can't wait to get my hands on her! Sarah Kate is getting ready to crawl. She is doing that "rocking" now and can go from laying down to sitting up by herself. Friday night, we had Josh and Hillary spend the night with us. They went to Tulsa this morning to visit the Stamps. We had a wonderful time with them. Emily sang and danced for them while we ate. It was like a dinner theater. We want them to come back soon! They brought E these darling butterfly wings, skirt, shoes, jewels. and candy. Emily LOVES it! She even napped in the shoes today. This is Emily making her angry face. She is soo very funny. We have not had t.v. for the past couple of days and I have been pretty miserable without it. Emily has told me several times that the t.v needed batteries. I wish it were that easy. Here is a little hello from Sarah Kat...

ICE!!!

Time in Tulsa

We continue to be amazed at the miracle of Harper. A friend said tonight. "Harper doesn't realize that she is a missionary!" We laughed and talked about how true that is!!!!!!!!!!!! We spent the day with K and S yesterday. We had a great time together. Here are the missionaries: Kelly and Baby Harper. Doesn't Kelly look great? Our trip to Tulsa was made possible because of my wonderful parents keeping the girls. Here is Snow White and sister ballerina.
