Letting Her Light Shine

Last week Emily had her second grade music program at school.  They did a variety of music around the world and through the years.  The music teacher asked Emily if she would sing Standing in the Need of Prayer that she did in the school talent show last year.  I am so glad she got this opportunity to sing and to share her faith in a public school setting.  I am so thankful for Christian teachers in our local schools.

Sunday was a very special day!  Emily got baptized in the morning service.  She was saved when she was five.  We have been talking with her the past couple of years to make sure she understood what she was doing.  This Fall she told us that she was ready to make her descision public by getting baptized.

Our wonderful youth minister, Hutch, baptized her.

Our second grader was baptized this past fall- makes your heart burst, doesn't it!? Precious times! Are you coming down in March for the Inspire conference, too? I told Kelly it's at my church; I'd love to meet up with you and chat for a few minutes!

My son in law is a Christian teacher in the public school system. It is a delight to see students be allowed to share their faith! Emily looks so much like my one grand daughter! At our church, the father of the child is given permission to baptize the child. I think that is pretty neat!

Laurie, I have been reading from here in the UK for a while after coming to you from Kelly. I have recently come to faith and my girls and I are loving church and learning about our lord. I am struggling with helping my girls to pray, as I am new to it myself and still building my relationship with God. Have you any advice? They are 4 and 20 months.

Oh Laurie, I had tears in my eyes seeing these pictures of sweet Emily getting baptized! What a truly joyful time in her life and the life of you and Steve and your parents! You are raising a true "light" for a darkening world!

It looks like Hutch got a boner when he dunked your daughter.
