Elf on a Shelf

Have you heard about Elf on a Shelf? My mother in law got it for the girls this year. The elf spies on the children during the day. Every night the elf returns to the North pole to give Santa a behavior report. We named our elf Frankie. I don't know....just looked like a Frankie. Frankie has really helped with the girls behavior. I may leave him out ALL year.

I have been tempted to buy one of these. I think Brody would like it!
I used to tell my students that I called Santa Clause after they left school and told him how they were doing. They were always so good in December! :)
Frankie sounds like a perfect name!

We have one, too. His name is Elvis. When the boys are good, at night he will move to a new spot. When they aren't listening and behaving very well, Elvis stays put for another day in the same spot. Last week he was in the same spot for 3 days :). My boys--3.5 and 18 months love it.

I'm not surprised by Frankie. You do have a cat named kristen.

My mom gave my daughter an Elf on the Shelf last year. We named ours Eddie. She was a little young for it last year, but this year (she is 2 1/2) she is having a blast finding Eddie each morning and I am loving the impact Eddie has on her behavior and attituded. Eddie is my BFF! I too want our elf to stay all year!

My dad made it sound like the elf was REALLY watching me. this was around the time that movie Gremlins came out so you can imagine..... I can't believe you have one!!! I'm still scared of him. ok just kidding

I heard about him a few years ago. I couldn't find one down here in South Texas so I went to Walmart and bought a cute little stuffed Christmas dog. My girls named her Caleese and know she is a "watch dog" sent from Santa. She also flies back to the north pole every night to report on their behavior. Well.....she does when we remember to move her. LOL!!!

Cute elf! That's a really good idea too. Hmm, I wonder whether it would be appropriate to put one in my classroom when I start teaching...
